태양이 사라진 세계에서 도시는 낮과 밤의 구분을 잃고, 시간은 노동의 리듬에 따라 반복된다. 외부에서 파견된 일본인 연구자는 서울역 일대를 관찰하며 변화한 도시 시스템을 기록한다. 한편, 매일 일자리를 찾아 도시를 배회하는 한 시민은 희미해지는 기억과 반복되는 노동 속에서 개인이 점차 하나의 기능으로 환원되는 과정을 증언한다. <어두컴컴한 낮과 밝은 밤>은 서로 다른 위치에서 도시를 경험하는 두 인물의 목소리를 교차시키며, 자연의 시간이 사라진 사회에서 도시의 시스템이 인간의 감각과 기억, 주체성을 어떻게 재구성하는지를 탐구하는 영상이다.
In a world without the sun, the distinction between day and night has disappeared, and time repeats according to the rhythms of labor. A Japanese researcher dispatched from abroad observes the area surrounding Seoul Station and documents the transformation of its urban systems. Meanwhile, a local citizen who wanders through the city each day in search of work recounts how fading memories and repetitive labor gradually reduce the individual to a mere function. <Sunless: Dark Day, Bright Night> is a video work that interweaves the voices of two figures experiencing the city from different positions. It explores how urban systems reconstruct human perception, memory, and subjectivity in a society where the natural order of time has ceased to exist.
